She's a beaut....

I'm so excited, I got a new laptop at work.   I think it would be safe to say, this not only made my day, but possibly my year! I am in LOVE, it's beautiful.  And the screen is like 3x the size of my old laptop.  Not such a great day for my old computer, something happened to the fan and it would overheat and shutdown without warning.  Not great for work productivity!  But it lived a good life and I think I'm ready to put it behind me and move on to my new MacBook. 

Something Ridiculous.....

Lately I have really been enjoying a Starbucks' coffee while grocery shopping at Target. However, sipping on a yummy white chocolate mocha while shopping has made me recognize a ridiculous comparison. Sometimes when chicken is really expensive, I skip it and get something else or really complain about the cost. Yes the pack of chicken that will feed my entire family for a meal. Then I look down at the coffee that I didn't think twice about paying almost $5 for! Really, when you compare the two, I realize how ridiculous I am!

Birthday party planning for my twins turning two!

I said last year I would be on top of the party planning and be ready to go by the day of the party. NOT SO MUCH with just a week to go.  Here is the invite, I ended up making this myself to save on costs.  Here are some cake ideas I like.

They love Thomas and Elmo, so I am thinking of incorporating one of those, both go great with the light blue and red invite.

To the moms of boys

 

 

As I approach my third winter as a mom to boys, I would like to share a few words of advice...

HATS

Buy at least two hats right now, and if your little ones are still really young, buy different sizes, one for now, one for spring.  First off, somehow they disappear, reappear and disappear for good.  By the end of last winter, we were down to these two hats.  Honestly, I can't believe they fit!   Second, by mid January, there will be very few hats in sight to buy.  You would think in a state like Minnesota, where hats can be worn about nine months of the year, they would sell them all year! 

I'm sure it is tough to find girl hats late in the winter as well.

 

Something to make your friends say wow.

I'm always looking for a great place to go for cute invites besides shutterfly or Tiny Prints. You'll have to visit Jumping Jax Designs to see all the invites Becca has designed.  She does birthday parties, birth announcements, holiday cards and blog designs.  I've been looking for somebody to make a custom design for Something from TheMallMamma, so I am going to see what her availability is. 

Something Vintage.

 I found these cool signs at Signs of Vintage.  Such cute Mr. and Mrs. signs for a wedding or you can create your own "words" sign.  Very cool!

Show Us Your LIfe - Offices

This is supposed to be Show us Your Life Friday, but I was am a little late getting this posted.  Our office....not too exciting!  This room was full of wallpaper when we bought the house.  It is the perfect little room for an office.  It has two doors, one that goes to the kitchen, the other that goes to the back hallway of our house.

As the boys toys quickly piled up we decided we must do something more with our office to hold their stuff. So last year we bought that great shelf from Ikea, and green boxes from Target and made the office child friendly. 

Both of us our laptop junkies so we don't spend too much time in here.  I do do a lot of blogging from our desktop b/c that is where we store all our pictures.  Otherwise, we would prefer to surf the web on the couch in front of the TV.

 Today I spent some time browsing around on on Brown Paper Packages.  I saw these adorable story rings- they look pretty easy to make and would be a really fun gift for any expecting mom! 

Something Disturbing... Davies Happy Meal Project

A woman named Sally Davies shared on Flickr her experiment in time lapse photography...only when it came to her subject, a McDonalds Happy Meal, time seemed to have no effect – even after 180 days had passed. In her words, “no bugs, no mold, no smell, nothing.” Makes you wonder...

Tonight I had fun hanging out at Homemade by Jill. She melted crayons and poured the wax in little car chocolate molds! My boys would absolutely love these, maybe I will give it a try this weekend. So cute!  Here is the how to.

Show Us Your Life - From Kelly's Korner

Kelly's Korner has a weekly Show Us Your Life - a fun way to get to know other bloggers.  I'm a little behind, but last weeks SUYL home tours was kitchens.

We live in the Twin Cities and our home is a 1980 gem!  So wallpaper removal was the first project prior to moving in, I would love to put in new cabinets and counter tops, but I am afraid we are well over invested since we bought on top of the bubble!

I had so much fun browsing around at Frank & Me!  They have the most adorable, creative items for little ones!  I wish I had found this site when I was pregnant with my boys, we chose not to find out and it is so hard to find cute unisex things and this site is full of adorable unisex blankets, toys, etc.

Welcome to the MallMamma!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be patient with me, I've been trying to get this blog started for weeks, but I don't have a lot of time to blog between work, my family and my other blog.  I have been blogging about life as a working mom, raising twin boys for about two years now and thought it would be fun to have another blog.

So what was my inspiration for a new blog?  I'm at the age where most of my friends have graduated from college, did the career focus for 3-4 years and  they are now making new transitions in their lives as they begin their families.  I have been noticing so many are starting to depart from the corporate world and are beginning to start their own businesses.  So I want to start this site as a home for all these cool sites full of young entrepreneurial spirit, plus they have a lot of cool things to offer, so this will be a good blog to bookmark so when the gift occasion arises, this will be a great place to stop for lots of options.
